The District Co-operative Central Bank Ltd.,Bidar was established in the year 1922 under the Hyderabad Co-operative Societies Act with Registration No.20944 dated 13/8/1922 with an objective to provide short term and medium term loans for agricultural purposes. The area of operation of the Bank is extended to the whole of Bidar District. After realignment of (5) Talukas Viz, Bidar,Aurad,Bhalki, Humnabad & Basavakalyan. Bidar District population stood of 15.00 lakhs Covering 622 revenue villages and 300 wadi thandas in the entire District.
After re-organisation of states the Bank opened its first branch at Basavakalyan and than at Aurad and Humnabad. The activities of the Bank has gradually increased, which can be seen from the statements enclosed. Now, the Bank is having (43) Branches covering all the Revenue circles.The Reserve Bank of India granted Licence No.RPCD BG 83-C dated 15th July 1998 to the Bank.
The Bank has started functioning with a initial Share Capital of Rs.1671/- and thereafter it has developed gradually. The Bank has grown rapidly in the last 4 decades and its operation in the District can be seen from the enclosed statement. The Board of Management has decided to bringout a monthly magzine called “Bidar Sahakar” for the benefit of farmers in the district. The aim of this magazine is to provide education to the farmers in agricultural, marketing,technology,scientifical management and other important aspects related to agriculture. The magzine is being published since 1997 with a circulation of 1000 copies.

The Bank has got Best performance Award for Co-operative Banks for the year 1998-99 from NABARD for excellent performance. The Award was presented by Sri.Yeshwanth Sinha Hon’ble Union Minister for finance, Govt. of India, and a trophy and a prize of Rs.5.00 lakhs was received by the president of the Bank on 12th July,2000. Recently the Bank has got State level Award for Best performance under SHG and Bank linkage awarded by the NABARD for the year 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002, 2002-2003, 2003-2004 & 2004-2005. Sri.Veershetty H the then Nodal Officer and General Manager has got Best SHG Nodal Officer in the Karnataka for the year 2003-2004 and Sri Chanbasayya Swamy Deputy General Manager has got Best SHG Nodal Officer in the Karnataka for the year 2006-2007. Basaweshwar VVV Club Kolar K received best VVV Club award for 2003-2004 from Union Finance Minister Sri.P.Chidambaram , Chanbasweshwar VVV Club Ranjol Kheni got best VVV Club Award during 2005-2006 and Chief Volunteer of VVV Lalbahaddur Shastri, Nidawancha got best VVV Club Award for 2006-2007, Jai Bhavani VVV Club,2007-2008 and Jai Kisan VVV Club Nagoora 2008-2009.
